Comedian A-Train has not done too shabbily for someone whose career was launched on a dare. A friend thought he should enter a local stand up competition to win the opportunity to open at the Times Union Center, Jacksonville, FL. Of all the competitors, A-Train was the only one, not a comedy school graduate. Though family and friends declare he came out of the womb telling jokes, for him, it was winning the comedy showcase and competition and two weeks later hearing the roaring applause from the standing ovation of the sold-out Times Union Center crowd that sealed the deal for him. He never again wanted to be without that feeling. He’s been performing ever since. He's had the coveted pleasure of opening for Original King of Comedy DL Hughley on many occasions, has toured with Kountry Wayne and has featured for the biggest names in clean comedy—Preacher Lawson (AGT), Michael Jr., KevOnStage, and Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey of Full House). He has had the honor of sharing the stage with some of his favorites like Pete Lee (Jimmy Fallon and VH1’s Best Week Ever), Comedienne Dominique (Last Comic Standing), Bill Bellamy (Who's Got Jokes and Ladies Night Out), Ali Siddiq (Bring the Funny and Comedy Central), Loni Love (The Real), Deon Cole (Blackish and Grownish), Ronnie Jordan (Bossip), Huggy Low Down and Chris Paul (Tom Joyner Morning Show), the legendary Elayne Boosler and many others.

 

Comedian A-Train has hosted festivals like the Zora Neal Hurston Festival, Orlando Jazz Festival, Steel City Jazz Festival—Birmingham, and Jacksonville Jazz Festival—the second largest in the country where he’s the first and only comedian to host in the city’s 40-year history. He has opened and hosted for Patti Labelle, Kirk Franklin, David and Tamela Mann, The Isley Brothers, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Avant, KeKe Wyatt, Martha Munizzi, Shirley Caesar, Erica Campbell, Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams, Big Daddy Kane, Miles Jaye, and more.
